Join Woodhouse: A Hands-On Role in a Dynamic Team
For over 130 years, Woodhouse has been a trusted name in delivering high-quality temporary structures for major equestrian events, trade shows, and outdoor exhibitions. As a Site Operative, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our builds are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. If you’re practical, enjoy working outdoors, and want to be part of a team that values reliability and hard work, this could be the role for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
No two days are the same in this fast-paced, hands-on role. You’ll be working across different event sites, supporting the build and takedown of our structures and ensuring smooth site operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with event build and takedown activities – handling materials, assembling and dismantling structures, and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Working as part of a team – collaborating with Site Leads, Site Assistants, and colleagues to complete tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines.
- Following health and safety procedures – adhering to strict safety protocols and participating in site briefings.
- Using tools and equipment – safely operating hand tools and assisting with maintenance and storage.
- Managing materials and resources – ensuring equipment is properly handled, stored, and ready for each phase of the project.
- Problem-solving and reporting issues – identifying on-site challenges and notifying team leads to ensure smooth operations.
What We’re Looking For…
We’re looking for motivated individuals who enjoy hands-on work and thrive in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have:
– Experience in event builds, construction, or temporary structures (preferred but not essential).
– A full UK driving licence (an advantage but not required).
– A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn new skills.
– The ability to follow instructions, work safely, and contribute as part of a team.
– Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing site conditions.
– The physical ability to carry out manual handling tasks safely.
– A willingness to travel and work weekends when required.
